Write for Glitch Magazine
Glitch Magazine publishes contributed articles from people with real experience to share. If you have insight that would help our readers understand technology, business, lifestyle or culture a little better, we would like to hear from you.
Who can contribute?
We welcome submissions from founders, executives, researchers, specialists and creators, as well as writers with genuine knowledge of their subject. You do not need to be a professional journalist. What matters is that you write from first hand experience or proper research, and that your article gives readers something they cannot easily find elsewhere.
What topics do we accept?
We consider articles that fit our four main areas:
- Technology: products, platforms, digital trends and how technology affects work and daily life.
- Business: entrepreneurship, leadership, strategy, marketing and industry analysis.
- Lifestyle: wellbeing, language, cars, style and everyday living.
- Culture: online culture, media, entertainment and the ideas people are talking about.
Thought leadership pieces, practical guides, industry analysis and personal essays with clear lessons all work well, provided they offer value to the reader rather than promote a company.
Our editorial standards
Every submission is reviewed against the same standards we apply to our own journalism.
Originality. Articles must be original and not published anywhere else, including your own website or LinkedIn. We do not accept content generated by AI tools or repurposed from existing publications.
Sourcing. Support claims, figures and quotes with credible sources, and link to them. Primary sources such as official data, published research and company statements are best. Please do not include statistics you cannot verify.
Disclosure. Tell us about any commercial interest in your subject, including whether you work for, invest in or have been paid by a company you mention. Sponsored content is always labelled as sponsored on Glitch Magazine, and undisclosed promotion will not be published.
Editing. We may edit for clarity, accuracy, style and length. If changes affect the substance of your argument, we will check with you first.
What makes a strong pitch?
The best pitches are short and specific. Tell us:
- The working headline and the question your article answers.
- Why you are the right person to write it, with relevant experience or credentials.
- The main points you will cover, in three or four lines.
- Any sources, data or examples you plan to use.
A clear angle beats a broad topic. “How small UK retailers are using AI for stock planning” is far more useful to us than “The future of AI”.
How to submit
Send your pitch or finished article, along with a short author bio of two or three sentences, to admin@glitchmagazine.co.uk. You can also reach us through our Contact page. Finished articles should be between 800 and 1,500 words, written in clear, plain English.
What happens after you submit?
A member of our editorial team reads every submission. We aim to reply within two business days to let you know whether the idea is a good fit. If it is, we may ask for revisions, extra sources or clarification before the piece goes ahead. Once we are both happy with the final version, we will confirm publication details with you.
If your article is not right for us, we will tell you, and where we can, explain why.
Frequently asked questions
Can I submit an article that has been published elsewhere?
No. We only publish original, unpublished work. Please do not republish your article elsewhere after it appears on Glitch Magazine without agreeing this with us first.
Can I include links to my own business?
You can include a link in your author bio. Links within the article should support the reader, such as sources or useful references, not promote a product or service.
How long should my article be?
Between 800 and 1,500 words. Longer is not better if the extra words do not add value.
How long will it take to hear back?
We aim to reply within two business days of receiving your submission.
